Standard Media Arrangement
- Anthracite-Pure: A light, tough top layer that captures particles and reduces clogging in the layers below. Easy to backwash.
- ZeoPlus: Removes ammonia and “chlorine” odour while producing high-clarity water.
- DMI-Plus: Catalytic media using infusion technology to remove iron, manganese and arsenic, the common causes of yellowish water.
- Graded River Silica Sand: Irregular-shaped grains provide physical filtration of sediment and suspended solids.
- Graded Gravel: Supports the media bed and improves backwash efficiency.
Other Media Options
- GAC-Plus: Granular activated carbon for taste and odour removal, with partial removal of chlorine.
- Glass Pearl: Delivers superior clarity with filtration down to 3 microns, while using about 20% less backwash water.

Clean the Filter with Ease
Aquaflo uses a 6-position multiport valve that makes maintenance simple. To clean the filter, just turn the lever from “Filter” to “Backwash”. This reverses the water flow and flushes trapped dirt out of the filter bed to waste. A quick “Rinse” then settles the media before returning to normal filtration.
Multiport valve functions:
- Filter: Water flows down through the filter bed to the outlet
- Backwash: Water flows up through the filter bed to waste
- Rinse: Water flows down through the filter bed to waste
- Waste: Bypasses the filter bed to waste
- Re-circulate: Bypasses the filter bed to the outlet
- Closed: No flow to the filter
